BEHIND THE SCENES: New Costumes for the Country Bear Jamboree’s Sun Bonnets

Sun bonnets have new costumes for the Country Bear Jamboree show reopening summer 2024

Disney just revealed the new costumes for the Sun Bonnets trio in the newly reimagined Country Bear Jamboree coming soon to the Magic Kingdom.

Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah are wearing new pink and white ensembles that include pink shirts, white vests, and pink skirts. Their accessories include pink cowboy hats and neckercheifs. Their new outfits also have a few rhinestone accents.

Sara Landesberg, a costumer with Disney Live Entertainment, gave a sneak peak behind the scenes of the costuming department in charge of making the bears look picture perfect.

Landesberg explains that dressing the bears is harder than one would think, given that audio-animatronic figures don’t move the same way humans do. She went on to say that extra gussets and zippers are added to aid with that extra movement. And she revealed that the animatronics need to wear shapewear to help the costumes fit properly (like Spandex for humans). The photo she shows is of the shapewear used for the Romeo McGrowl animatronic.

Disney says the new Country Bears show will pay homage to the Opry-style shows of Nashville.

They will be reinterpreting classic Disney songs in different genres of country music – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and more.

The reimagined Country Bear Jamboree opens Summer 2024 in Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
