Walt Disney World has closed or cancelled several experiences at its resort due to potential weather impacts of Hurricane Helene.

Nighttime Shows and Fireworks

Walt Disney World has decided to cancel its nighttime shows and fireworks at multiple theme parks for Thursday, September 26.

  • Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Luminous at EPCOT

The Happily Ever After castle fireworks show at Magic Kingdom was not scheduled to take place tonight since tonight was supposed to be a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party event night. While the event was cancelled, Magic Kingdom is still not having a firework show tonight.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom does not currently have any nighttime shows or firework shows.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Thursday, September 26 is now cancelled. Guest tickets will be automatically refunded. Disney has not offered a replacement date for guests who had tickets for the Halloween party on this day.

Magic Kingdom was previously set to close at 6 PM, but will now close at 8 PM for regular day guests.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Walt Disney World announced Wednesday that they decided to close Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Thursday.

The Walt Disney World calendar still shows Typhoon Lagoon opening from 10 AM to 5 PM on Friday, September 27. 

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has been closed for maintenance since March 2024 and is scheduled to reopen on November 4, 2024.

Miniature Golf

The following Walt Disney World’s mini golf locations will be closed on Thursday, September 26: Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf.

Pools at Disney Resort Hotels

Pools at Disney Resort hotels will continue to operate or close under normal conditions. Walt Disney World pools that have lifeguards are usually closed for lightning in the area. Pools that do not have lifeguards are swim at your own risk.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Cast members at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort have instructed guests to remove and stow outdoor items including decorations and take in camper awnings in preparation for Hurricane Helene. Guests have not been instructed to evacuate.

Horseback riding has been suspended for Thursday, September 26.

Other recreational activities remain operational weather permitting including:

  • Pony, carriage and wagon rides at Tri-Circle-D Ranch
  • Archery
  • Fishing
  • Bike, canoe and kayak rentals
