ORLANDO, Fla. — Walt Disney World announced the list of parks, hotels and other amenities that will be closed ahead of Hurricane’s Milton’s arrival.
The theme park released the following list of closures and timing for those closures on Tuesday afternoon.
Walt Disney World Theme Park & Disney Springs Closures
On Wednesday, Oct. 9, the Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1 p.m.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1 p.m.
- Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m.
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closed all day Wednesday, Oct. 9 until further notice. Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park remains closed for planned refurbishment.
Disney says it is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is cancelled for Thursday, Oct. 10. Event tickets will be refunded.
Disney will consider reopening Disney Springs in the late afternoon on Thursday with limited offerings, weather permitting.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Closures
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (including all dining and recreation locations), the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will close at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Guests staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground (whether they are in tents, RVs, campers, or cabins) and at the Treehouse Villas must check out by 11 a.m. on Oct. 9. Cast members distributed a notice stating this information to guests staying in these accommodations on Monday.
The Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will likely reopen on Friday, Oct. 11.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are likely to remain closed until Sunday, Oct. 13.
Transportation
Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating on Wednesday, October 9 after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close. Disney did not specify all transportation modes, but this would presumably include: all buses, Monorail, Skyliner, boats, ferries, etc.
Limited Minnie Van and Mears taxi service will be available to Walt Disney World Resort Guests.
Recreation
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed on Wednesday, October 9.
There are no events planned for ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex until the weekend.
Reservations for Dining and Other Experiences
Effective immediately, Disney will not enforce cancellation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences.
Prepaid bookable experiences will be automatically refunded within 7 to 10 business days.
